Starcraft fans get ready to be surprised…happily this time though. The much-anticipated sequel to one of the most successful real-time strategy games has closed beta testing. The testing has been done to balance online gameplay for all three races. The game idea – conceived early 2007 – has taken a sum total of three years to reach fruition. It was not a good time to be a Starcraft fan over those three years; the development was wrought with delays. With plans to ship out early this year, Starcraft fans are fizzing with excitement.
The game employs a new graphics engine which is capable of producing some incredible images.
It will also make use of the reworked Battlenet server. As well as all other Blizzard Entertainment devlopments including; World of Warcraft, dedicated DotA players deep easy breaths nothing is changing. With the introduction of the Starcraft 2 Marketplace high quality maps will be sold over battlenet for a small fee. Pricing has not yet been announced.
Set in the 26th century in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy. Wings of Liberty is highly fouced on the Terran Race, the humans. Four years after the Brood War, Jim Raynor leads a small group of insurgents against the Terran race. Due to their lack of numbers they are forced into becoming mercenaries whereby they discover artifacts of so called extinct ancient species, the Xel’naga. Yes, that is the most unpronounceable name they could come up with. Original characters such as Zeratul, Arcturus Mengsk, Artanis and Sarah Kerrigan; and original worlds such as Char, Mar Sara and Braxis feature alongside new worlds that are more aesthetically pleasing than the FHM calendar girls, minus April… well done to her.
The addition of new and improved units will leave most players jaws on the floor. The developers have given us a small taste of this pure awesome’ness, one unit, the Baneling from the Zerg horde, employs a suicidal tactic that leaves the surrounding enemy units covered in searing acid. In a large group, they can devistate the enemy.
Another unit, the Viking from the Terran, combines a strong ground attack with a defensive air unit. It transforms from a mech walker, to a flying anti-air aircraft. A small group of the vikings can unleash a supremely destructive force on enemy bases and units. If you have ever found yourself in a destructive mood, than Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty will satisfy your needs and then some.
Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty, anticipated by many, including myself, but still if only we knew just what exactly we were waiting for! Finally the wait is over and in a few short months we will be immersed in real time strategy heaven.

I think the thing I like most about Blizzard is any game the produce, whether it be Starcraft 2 or WoW, they are able to squeeze a lot out of low system requirements. It seems like every other company that makes a game requires you to upgrade your system if you want to get the full experience. Starcraft 2's system requirements aren't crazy high, so a lot of lower end machines will be able to enjoy this game to its full potential.
I almost wasn’t able to comment on the state of the Starcraft 2 beta, since I didn’t get an invite with a key, but fortunately that has changed.
A little while ago I was searching for free giveaways. They all turned out to be scams to get more followers or whatever.
I then found this legitimate site giving away invites, with tons of comments by people who had received invites. After participating in that site’s giveaway, I had an invite within two hours.
If anyone else wants to try, not sure if they have keys left but I’m almost positive that they do, here is the URL: http://starcraft2betainvites.blogspot.com
Hopefully everyone who wants a SC2 key can get one! That’s what I really want!
