Finally! After years of waiting TomTom has made its Live Services available in South Africa.”…and now time for the traffic with Aki…” are words I no longer hear.
This morning marked the launch of Google Street View in South Africa. Allowing you to sit at your computer and stalk people in their houses. Well not really…
It started out as a review of the Navigon 1400 and landed up being about the death of standalone navigation devices *sniffle* *sob* not.
TomTom just launched three fantastic new devices into the South African market. The Start, XXL & The GO 750. after a brief fiddle with the new devices, I already love them. Pity the love isn’t reciprocated.
At the best of times my sense of direction is rather sketchy. I convince myself that i know where I’m going but land up getting lost anyway. As a result I land up using a GPS Navigator to get me unlost. When I’m at home this is not a problem just keep the TomTom or Garmin – this is an argument for another day – in the cubby hole and when i inevitably get lost just pop it in is cradle and get going. A problem arose when i went down to Cape Town for my verkansie. i was not going to take with a GPS as it was just a pain. So i ditched the iPhone that i had been using for the past few weeks in favor of a Nokia E66.
